Overview
The 22-Day Lunana Trek is an immersive adventure through Bhutan’s rugged landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The journey begins with an arrival in Paro and transfer to Thimphu, where you'll acclimatize and enjoy Bhutanese cuisine. From Thimphu, you'll travel to Punakha, visiting Dochula Pass and the historic Punakha Dzong.
The trek starts from Koina, leading through lush forests to Laya, a village known for its unique highland culture. You'll then continue through diverse terrains to Rhodophu, Narethang, and Tarina, exploring glacial valleys and high passes. Key stops include Woche, Lhedi, and Thanza, where you'll have opportunities to interact with locals and visit beautiful glacial lakes.
As you move towards Lunana, you'll trek through alpine meadows and past stunning lakes such as Tshochena and Thampe Tsho, crossing high passes like Jaze La and Rinchen Zoe La. The journey concludes with a descent to Sephu, followed by visits to Punakha and Paro, where you'll explore iconic sites like Kyichu Lhakhang and Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).
This trek combines challenging high-altitude trekking with deep cultural experiences, offering a profound exploration of Bhutan’s remote regions and traditional lifestyle.

Paro Airport
Day-1
Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
- Arrival: Arrive at Paro International Airport. Meet your guide and drive to Thimphu.
- Acclimatization: Settle into your accommodation and begin adjusting to the altitude.
- Dinner: Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese meal at a local restaurant, featuring local flavors and dishes.

Day- 2
Thimphu to Punakha
- Travel: Drive from Thimphu to Punakha, passing through scenic landscapes and crossing Dochula Pass.
- Dochula Pass: Stop to admire the 108 chortens (stupas) and panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas.
- Punakha Dzong: Explore this historic fortress, known for its stunning architecture and location at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers.
- Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten: Visit this intricately designed chorten, which offers excellent views of the surrounding valley.

Punakha to Laya
- Travel: Drive from Punakha to Koina, where the trek starts.

Laya to Rhodophu
- Trek: Continue from Laya to Rhodophu.

Day- 6
Rhodophu to Narethang
- Trek: Trek from Rhodophu to Narethang.

: Narethang to Tarina
- Trek: From Narethang, descend to Tarina.
- Gangla Karchung La Pass: Take in breathtaking views from the pass.
- Descent: Trek through rhododendron forests and follow the Tang Chu river.

Day - 8
: Tarina to Woche
- Trek: Continue from Tarina to Woche.
- Terrain: Traverse through juniper forests and along river paths.
- Village: Woche is a key village that serves as the gateway to the Lunana region.

Woche to Lhedi
- Trek: Trek from Woche to Lhedi.
- Keche La Pass: Cross the pass and enjoy the panoramic mountain views.
- Village: Explore Lhedi’s traditional houses and cultural landmarks.

Day- 10
: Lhedi to Thanza
- Trek: From Lhedi, hike to Thanza.

Day -11
Rest Day in Thanza
